EH MicroPoint Scissors

The EH MicroPoint Scissors Provides an improved method of locating and severing buried suture without traumatizing swollen, sensitive tissue. Blunt, rounded tips probe to locate the suture buried in edematous or hypertrophic tissue without pain. Once located, the scissors may be advanced and opened to ensure the suture is between the blades. Because the scissors always cut to the tip, the suture is cut from above, without having to place the scissors beneath the suture, which could cause tension and pain to sensitive tissue. The proper usage technic is shown below.

Step # 1 Close blades and approach suture perpendicularly.		Step #2 Probe suture for location, position perpendicularly, elevate slightly for clearance, and allow the scissors to open, thereby gently separating swollen tissue borders.
Step # 3 When scissors are open and suture is ‘straddled’, readvance the scissors so that the blade tips are positioned on an equal plane with the bottom of the suture.		Step # 4 Close the scissors, thereby safely cutting the suture for removal.
Step # 5 A 300% increase in shearing angle (bias) guarantees consistent cutting at the tip with greater cutting efficiency and less crushing when used for cutting tissue.

PROPER MAINTENANCE OF THE LASCHAL INSTRUMENTS:
Immediately following use, the instrument should be soaked and scrubbed prior to sterilization.
Upon completion of sterilization a drop of bacteriostatic surgical milk should be applied to the articulate.
